Rail Consultancy

System Assurance / RAMS

Our consultants are the System Assurance Managers for various systems including Power Supply System, Main Control System, Rolling Stock, Overhead Line, Tunnel Ventilation System, Communications Systems, Platform Screen Door, Ticketing, Lift & Escalator, etc. to coordinate, undertake and review safety and RAM activities according to EN50126 & EN50129, including FMECA, RAM, QRA/FTA, etc., during the project life cycle.

SA Training

The goal of a railway system is to achieve a defined level of rail traffic in a given time reliability and safely. Railway Reliability, Availability Maintainability and Safety (RAMS), another name is System Assurance (SA), describes the confidence with which the system can guarantee the achievement of this goal.

Our consultants have a lot of hands-on experience in coaching our clients in understanding of the RAMS as per EN50126 and EN50129.

Independent Safety Assessment

Our Consultants are competent to perform the role of an independent safety assessor and / or independent software assessor on all railway systems based on the international standards such as EN50126, EN50128, and EN50129.

Normally, the service includes:

  • Preparation of the independent safety assessment;

  • Carrying out of the independent safety assessments and audits;

  • Update and follow-up of the independent safety assessment; and

  • Issuance of a certificate/statement confirming compliance to EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129 as appropriate.

Electromagnetic Compatibility

We provide expertise in all aspects for EMC Management and Testing. We also assist clients in identifying the tests that must be carried out in order to verify EMC performance. This points out where, if any, performance flaws exist and forms the basis for further control measures or design modifications. Most electrical products are required to comply with the current European EMC Directive 2004/108/EC. In a complex railway EMC environment, demonstrating the importance of managing EMC from project conception to completion is crucial. We assist our client in managing EMC activities based on standards and best practices that are widely adopted in the railway industry, such as EN50121 series, etc.
